Gracie Barra is the 2012 European Champion!

Gracie Bara Academy ranked 1st in the Adult Division of European BJJ Open 2012. The European BJJ Open 2012 was held in Lisbon, Portugal and after 4 days of championship, Gracie Barra grabbed 1st place in Adult Division. Professors Victor Estima  of Gracie Bara UK and Rodrigo “Pimpolho” Fajardo of Gracie Barra Curitiba were two champions in black belt adult division. Gracie Barra was second in the Novice division, Masters & Seniors division and even in Juvenile division. Congratulations to all athletes who represented the GB Family!

Gracie Barra’s Professor Marcelo Ribeiro

Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) Martial Arts SchoolProfessor Marcelo Ribeiro is a Black Belt under Master Carlos Gracie Jr. Earned his black belt in 2001 and he started studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) at the young age of 12 years old. He is specialized in teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to children and adults.

After owning for 4 years a successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu School in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Professor Marcelo came to US with his family and in 2006 he works for numerous projects in Gracie Barra. After a huge success in Gracie Barra West Palm Beach, FL, Professor Marcelo Ribeiro and Professor Marcio Feitosa worked together in the first big Project in Austin, Tx. In 7 months they made Gracie Barra North Austin one of the most successful schools in Texas. Professor Marcelo is the school director for Gracie Barra North Austin , Gracie Barra Carlisle and now launching a new project for Gracie Barra. Professor Feitosa and Professor Ribeiro are now going to one more step for Gracie Barra, opening schools in Tennessee (Gracie Barra Nashville) where Professor Marcelo teaches now.

Professor Marcelo is also known for coaching successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitors, he has produced many gold medalists on the major championships like the prestigious IBJJF Worlds, Pan Americans and Nationals. Professor Marcelo is also a top referee, and referee director to IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation) in major championships.  Professor has a large experience with Law enforcement. When possible, he exerts time teaching law enforcement, and has done seminars and special self defense training for SWAT, Troopers and Sheriff’s departments.

Girls in Gis in Gracie Barra North Austin

Last January 22nd, Girls in Gis had their Wish list donation drive wrap-up event in Gracie Barra North Austin. The purpose of Girls in Gis is to create a community of girls and women who train Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (BJJ) to provide a fun, friendly environment for training. Gracie Barra Austin’s only female Black belt Professor Fabiana Borges participated in the event along with Gracie Barra Pink Team and other Girls in Gis member. Aside from having self defense lesson, they had a Drive Donation for Safe Place and Gracie Barra North Austin received most donations from their students. Everyone had a great time and we would like to thank all Gracie Barra Austin students who participated and joined in this wonderful event.

Professor Philipe Della Monica shows how to pass the Deep Half Guard

Gracie Barra’s: Professor Vinicius “Draculino” Magalhaes

Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) Martial Arts SchoolHaving been involved in Jiu-Jitsu for over 25 years with 20 years of teaching experience 4th Degree Black Belt Vinicius “Draculino” Magalhães is a prime example of a man who has fully dedicated his life to the Jiu-Jitsu lifestyle. Not only is he considered one of the greatest feather weight competitors of all time but he is also considered one of the greatest instructors of all time having awarded over one hundred black belts which includes the likes of many top competitors like Romulo Barral and Samuel Braga. Professor Draculino currently spends his time as the head instructor of Gracie Barra Texas as well as running his own online training database DraculinoBJJTraining.com.  Even with his busy schedule Professor “Draculino” still had time to give the Gracie Barra family an insight into his life through Jiu-Jitsu. His life on and off the mats is an inspiration to all of us and sets a good example of what we should strive for in our life.
